Becca & Ryan

We are the creators of InterTREKtional - the intersectional feminist Star Trek podcast. Ryan studied English literary criticism at Oberlin and has seen every episode of Star Trek. Becca started watching The Next Generation before she could form memories, and majored in biology at MIT. We are over-educated, under-employed millennials who love Star Trek, and believe that criticizing the art we love allows us - and you! - to see it more fully.

When you support our show, you are helping to keep this podcast alive! We make it by ourselves in our (scarce) free time, and each hour of content takes about 24 person-hours to produce. Please contribute whatever amount you can... without income we cannot survive in this hetero-patriarchal capitalist dystopia.

Star Trek is both a reflection of our society and an aspiration for our future; the stories it tells shape our world. Intersectionality explores intersecting forms of oppression, and how they affect the experiences of individuals with compound identities (such as race, gender, class, religion, sexual orientation, and species).

Star Trek is for Feminists!
